Current Executive Team:

Michael Minh Quach, MD — President

Dr. Quach is a board certified psychiatrist. He received his MD degree from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his psychiatry residency training at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He was Chief Resident during his last year of residency training. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings: Stanford Hospital and Clinics, VA Hospital and Clinics, Kaiser Permanente Hospital and Clinics, Community Clinics, Inpatient Custody Mental Health, and University Student Health Center. He became a member of Stanford University’s Adjunct Clinical Faculty in 2008 and has been teaching topics on psychiatry to Stanford Medical Students. For over 5 years, he served as Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer for Momentum for Mental Health. He also served as Chief Operating Officer and Medical Director at Mekong Community Center. He is President of the Vietnamese Physician Association of Northern California. He enjoys traveling, gardening, singing, and spending quality time with his friends and family.

Nhu-Diem Dang, LCSW — Vice President

Ms. Dang has been an active member of the Network for many years.  She was previously Vice-President of the Network and served on the Executive Committee and then was later nominated and promoted to President.  She has been a lead and clinical supervisor for the Vietnamese team at Gardner Family Care Corp. where she has worked for over two decades.  She has been a very resourceful person in the mental health field.  She has also worked with Dr. Thuy Le on a weekly Vietnamese radio talkshow, Hạnh Phúc Gia Đình.

Minh-Tuan Nguyen, LCSW — Secretary

Liên H. Cao, MS, MFT — President

Ms. Lien H. Cao is a licensed MFT (Marriage Family Therapist), having obtained her expertise in Asian population and acculturation issues by providing therapy at middle schools, high schools, community colleges and clinics in California. Recently, Ms. Cao was the Prevention and Intervention Consultant for the Santa Clara County Mental Health Department. Prior to working for the County, she was the  Associate Director at Asian American Recovery Services Inc. in Santa Clara County, overseeing outreach, intervention and mental health outpatient treatment drug recovery programs for youth and adult in San Jose. Ms. Cao was also a consultant to AARS, conducting research and community needs among Vietnamese youth substance abusers. She is a lecturer in the Masters in Leadership program at St. Mary's College, and several other institutions of higher education in the Bay Area. She was a teaching assistant at Stanford Business School. Ms. Cao has contributed two chapters to the "Synergic Inquiry: A Collaborative Action Methodology" book, published by Sage publications. She presented at the 2001 Conference in Higher Education in London, England, and regularly contributes to Vietnamese Radio programs on issues of Emotional and Behavioral Health among youth and families.

Iris Dinh, LCSW — Vice President

Iris Dinh, LCSW, MSW, is a community social worker, mental health therapist, family advocate,  support group facilitator, researcher, and youth leadership trainer. She has 8 years of experience working with survivors of abuse at two local domestic violence programs: Asian Americans for Community Involvement Domestic Violence Program and Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence. She has taught a 12-week Parent’s Project and numerous other parenting classes and 3 Principles classes.  She has facilitated support groups for women at various facilities in Santa Clara County including Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Elmwood Women’s Correctional Facility and International Children Assistance Network (ICAN). Iris was a research assistant at San Jose State University, doing surveys and interviewing Vietnamese families who were involved with the child welfare system, and individuals and families with mental health issues before she became a part time social work instructor at the School of Social work, San Jose State University. She was a clinician at Asian American Recovery Services, working with problem gamblers and their families, providing culturally specific outpatient treatment, counseling and case management services. In addition, Iris was a founder and a member of the Board of Directors of the Viet American Youth Association (VietAYA), which provides educational seminars on traditional homeland culture, and leadership workshops; and has been active in other informational and instructional activities for Vietnamese youth in the Bay Area. Iris is currently a mental health therapist at Gardner Family Care Corp (GFCC), providing culturally specific outpatient treatment and case management services to individuals, families, and groups in the local Asian Pacific Islander community. She has also initiated the collaboration between Asian Pacific Youth Program (APYP) at GFCC and the District of Attorney of Santa Clara County for the Vietnamese Parent’s Project and Vietnamese Parent’s Project Youth Group. Iris is a mentor for youth, for women, and for recent immigrants from her native Vietnam, and a source of inspiration. Having grown up in Vietnam, Iris is passionate about applying multi-cultural values to collaboratively and effectively address social issues and to help empower a healthy community.
